Kota Kina Balu!! Malaysia

In a country where rugged mountains reach dramatically for the sky while their rainforest-clad slopes sweep down to floodplains teeming with forest life. Cool highland hideaways roll down to warm, sandy beaches and rich, humid mangroves.

Sounds like a perfect place for a destination wedding!

A destination wedding at the stand-alone Hotel Shangri-La in Kota Kina Balu in summers was a learning experience for The Kitchen Art team. Humid & Hot!

Here are some captures of the event.

Facing the South China Sea this hotel witnesses some amazing jaw dropping sunsets.

Our make shift kitchen was right near the beach and under the scorching sun. Team “TKAC” had to brave this heat and humidity for 4 days. Getting ready at the base. Manish & Prasoon and the rest setting up the groceries at base.

This Marwari wedding was attended by all elite society of Kolkata and the cuisine was pure vegetarian.

We collectively worked with Chef Donald and his kitchen team who turned out some really creative vegetarian Malaysian cuisine that was aromatic and completely different to the food that you get in Kuala Lumpur.

They even had their own herb garden.

Snap shots of them during operation.
